“Partnering for Excellence in Power Engineering”

The PEA is a POWERFUL partnership of industry entities and universities in Queensland enhancing education, research and professional development in Power Engineering.

Power Engineering comprises all aspects of engineering associated with the whole electricity supply chain from generation through transmission and distribution to utilisation by the end-use customer, with particular focus on electrical and mechanical engineering.

OUR MISSION
Our Mission is to contribute to an environment in which the best students are attracted to Power Engineering and they have tertiary education and professional development opportunities for them to achieve their potential as professionals and to meet the needs of all sectors of Power Engineering.  

OUR VISION:
Our Vision is a fruitful partnership of industry and universities for the development of skilled and motivated professionals and para-professionals in Power Engineering.  

KEY STRATEGIES:
The activities of the PEA are based on a five-year funding program and are directed at four key areas, namely:

• Promotion of Power Engineering as a desirable career option,
• Support for Undergraduate Teaching of Power Engineering,
• Support for Postgraduate Teaching and Research in Power Engineering, and
• Support for Professional Development of Power Engineers.
